I don’t memorize 25 Pinterest poses and cycle through them. I direct in real time based on personality, body language, and confidence level. We walk. We spin. We run through hills. We change angles constantly. This keeps images alive instead of posed.

Strategic Light Contol.
Golden hour is beautiful but it's not the only way! In my experience shooting only at golden hour will really limit creativity during a session. I love and know how to shoot sunrise, morning, evenings, AND sunset. Whereas most newer photographers are afraid to shoot outside of golden hour.

This experience is designed for seniors who want to go all in and get the full creative range. Having more time allows the session to unfold naturally — more variety and creative posing. It’s perfect if you want multiple locations, outfit changes, and time to warm up and really settle into the shoot. This option is best for seniors who care about having a wider gallery with standout images and want the most flexibility and creative freedom from their session. We can move to various locations around Raleigh/Wake County or even do an entire session exploring the beach + downtown Wilmington.

This session is perfect for seniors who want something simple, polished, and stress-free. It’s ideal if you’re excited for beautiful photos but don’t need a ton of variety. We’ll focus on one great location around Wake County and keep the session efficient and relaxed, making it a great fit for seniors who prefer a lighter experience with less outfit changes. This option works especially well if your main goal is photos for announcements, yearbook, and sharing with family, without committing to a longer shoot.

what happens after you
INQUIRE ?
If you’re ready, here’s exactly how it works:
1. Choose your package. Select the session experience that fits your vision. Submit an inquiry.
2. Secure your date. I will get back to you with my available dates/times. A signed contract and retainer officially reserve your spot.
3. Pre-session planning. You’ll receive my location guide, outfit and 50+ page prep materials. We’ll refine your session vision together.
4. Meeting info will be sent to you about 10 days before your session with a schedule and any weather updates.
5. Shoot day. We move intentionally, maximize light, and create variety without rushing. I'll pop my changing tent for outfit changes and we'll handle touch-ups as needed with my massive kit.
5. Gallery delivery. Your fully edited online gallery is delivered within three weeks. From there, you’ll select your included images and have the option to purchase additional digitals or prints.
Natural,Guided, Artful Senior Portraits
Every senior walks into a session a little differently. Some are excited and ready to go. Others are nervous, quiet, or unsure of what to do with their hands. My approach is built for all of it. I guide you the entire time — adjusting, chatting, moving, and reading the moment as it unfolds — so nothing ever feels stiff or forced. We’ll start with safe, flattering direction and ease into more expressive, creative, cinematic moments as the session naturally builds.
You don’t need to know how to pose, and you don’t need to “perform” for the camera. The planning happens ahead of time so the experience itself can feel relaxed, fun, and genuinely enjoyable. The result is senior portraits that feel natural, polished, and artful — images that look elevated without losing what makes you you.

ARTISTIC POSING
I like to mix the best of both worlds — classic, flattering poses with more natural, candid prompts. I’ll give you clear direction so you’re never guessing what to do, then let things loosen up so it feels easy and fun.
We’ll move, laugh, try things, and adjust as we go. If a mom, sister, or someone special is there, I’ll usually pull them in for a quick photo too. Those little, unplanned moments often end up being the favorites.
LOCATION + OUTFITS
I don’t just wing locations or outfits — I help you plan both ahead of time. You’ll get access to my location guide that breaks down each spot by vibe, color tones, and the best time of year to shoot there.
I also send a welcome + style guide that covers everything from outfits and color palettes to hair, makeup, self-tanner, and what to expect on shoot day. The goal is for you to show up feeling prepared and excited, not stressed or second-guessing every decision. When the planning is done upfront, the session itself feels SO easy.

Frequently asked questions
When + how will I receive my photos?
Your full gallery will be delivered within 3 weeks of your session — but in most cases, you’ll receive your images well before the 3-week mark! I always aim to get your photos to you as quickly as possible without rushing the editing process, so they’re polished, consistent, and beautiful.
You’ll receive a link to your online gallery via email as soon as your images are ready!
How far in advance should
I book my session in Raleigh?
I recommend booking 4-5 months in advance, especially for popular seasons like spring and fall. Always check in with me anyways though because I sometimes have some last minute availabilities I can get you in.
How do I receive my photos?
I use an online gallery to deliver my galleries. When your gallery is ready you'll get an email with a link to your beautiful gallery along with instructions on how to choose your photos and download them. It will have info on purchasing any extra photos outside of your package included ones.
What are the best months for senior portraits in Raleigh, NC?
The most popular months for senior photos in Raleigh are April, May, June, September, and October. Spring offers fresh greenery and mild temperatures, while early fall brings warm light and softer tones. Summer sessions are also beautiful when scheduled thoughtfully to avoid peak heat.
What if the weather is bad for my senior photos??
Weather can be unpredictable — but it’s also part of what makes every session unique and beautiful! Here’s what to expect:
☁️ Cloudy skies? Totally normal and often ideal for photos. Soft, diffused light helps avoid harsh shadows and brings out rich, true-to-life colors. A heavy overcast with grey gloomy clouds on the other hand is grounds for rescheduling! If bright sun is a non-negotiable for you that's fine we'll chat about it prior to make sure we can accommodate that. I know the difference between good clouds and bad clouds!
That said, if we’re facing long periods of rain or strong winds that make it hard for you to feel comfortable or keep your hair in place, we’ll go ahead and reschedule for a better day.
I make the final call on all weather-related rescheduling. I only reschedule when conditions will seriously affect your photos (dark/heavy overcast, rain, or winds 16mph+ with 28mph+ gusts).
Where do you take senior photos in Raleigh?
I photograph senior sessions at a variety of Raleigh and Wake County locations, including fields, to gardens, downtown, to the coast. But if you have a special place in mind I'm absolutely open to using it.
Do you travel outside of Raleigh for senior sessions?
Yes. I regularly photograph seniors throughout Wake County, including Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, and surrounding areas even as far as the east coast. If you have a specific location in mind, I’m always happy to talk through options and timing.
