Lexi | Ravenscroft High School Senior Session in Raleigh, NC

If you’re wondering why I’m constantly telling Raleigh seniors to consider spring… Lexi’s session is your answer.

This was Lexi’s second session with me — her first was in the fall — and honestly? She somehow gets even better every time she steps in front of the camera.

Lexi is a senior at Ravenscroft High School, and she is one of those people who is just… easy. Easy to photograph. Easy to talk to. Easy to trust in front of the lens. She glows from the inside out, and that kind of energy always translates on camera.

spring!! — aka that short window where everything is green, the light is soft, and you’re not fighting heat, humidity, or chaos.

It’s elite. Truly.

Spring showed OFF this year in Raleigh

We shot this session at one of my favorite parks to use in Raleigh — a spot I come back to again and again because the light, the space, and the seasonal changes never disappoint.

But this year? The blooms were amazeeee, melt. 😊

I’ve photographed spring here plenty of times, and even I was shocked at how beautiful everything was. Peak color, peak softness, peak “wait, is this real?” energy.

Lexi added on a custom bouquet, which I built specifically for her session, and it tied everything together perfectly. It gave the shoot that extra intentional touch without feeling overdone — just elevated, thoughtful, and very her.

Why this session worked so well

Part of what made this session so good is that Lexi already trusted the process. Since this was her second shoot with me, there was no warm-up phase either. We just picked up where we left off.

No rigid poses. No overthinking. Just moving, pausing when something felt right, and letting moments happen.

You KNOW that’s when the best images always come!!

My favorite moment of the whole session as a Photographer

At the very end of the shoot — golden light fading, session basically wrapped — it was getting hot and Lexi wanted to throw her hair up into a braid with moms help.

And it was everything to me, this was just a small thing that can make a shoot look so effortless, relaxed, and candid.

That moment perfectly summed up the whole session: relaxed, confident, effortless. Those are always my favorite images — the ones that happen when seniors stop forcing perfection and just exist.

A note for Raleigh seniors considering spring photos

If you’re on the fence about spring senior photos in Raleigh, Lexi’s session is your sign.

Spring gives you:

  • insane greenery and blooms

  • comfortable temperatures

  • softer, calmer light

  • a slower pace that lets sessions actually breathe

Lexi’s spring session was proof of this magic !!

If you'd like to get in a session with me, run!!
